You'll also find a word game, as well as a "something to talk about section" to promote deeper conversations with your kids around the Shabbat table. Or on the couch. Or the backyard, or the car or in the kitchen. Wherever, whenever, connecting with our kids over subjects that are meaningful to us, as parents, are what childhood memories are made of. Make your Shabbat more intentional with the Parsha Ninja.
What to Eat Before the Fast: A Menu Idea
This one is for the grownups: It's hard enough to know what to eat before fasting on a regular Tisha B'Av, but when the day before the fast is Shabbat, it becomes even harder to figure it all out because planning in advance becomes essential. We've already given it some thought -more because we love to eat and less because we're organized - but either way, we're happy to share our menu. Lots of fiber, good fats and protein. And lots of water. Lots.
Tisha B'Av Family Activity Book
Tisha B'Av is almost here. And really, there's no way around it, keeping kids - of any age, whether they are old enough to fast or not - occupied on Tisha B'Av is just plain hard.
Inside the Tisha B'Av Family Activity Book, you'll find 24 pages of Tisha B'Av or Jerusalem-related ideas, activities and projects that are fun and easy enough to complete on a long, hot afternoon, when you need to entertain the kids without an iced coffee in your hand. We also included a Tisha B'Av coloring sheet embedded with a very short synopsis of what Tisha B'Av is all about, as well as a list of our favorite card and board games, just to jog your memory of what forgotten games might be lurking at the back of a closet somewhere. On the last page, you'll find a link to a short video that sparked some really deep Tisha B'Av conversations with our kids.
The entire sefer Devarim Parsha Ninja Pack is almost here, but in the meantime, we'd be so honored if you'd help up beta test one parsha. We're offering Parshat Korach for free, and all we ask in return is for you to let us know what you think. What you liked, didn't like, wished there were more of, anything at all. You can even email us just to say hi!
Just so we're all on the same page,Parshat Korach will be read this Shabbat, June 29, 2019 in Israel and next Shabbat, July 6, 2019 everywhere else.

Shavuot Cheesecake Freebie!
Yum! This Very Very Chocolate Cheesecake is one that this ParshaNinja mom has been making for years, ever since I made it for the first time for a local fundraiser, and I received eight phone calls (no one really emailed back then, sigh)that first day alone, asking for the recipe. If we're being honest, the whole recipe itself was an accident. It seems there were two cheesecake recipes on the same page of the cookbook I was using - and it also seems that talking on the phone and trying to read a recipe at the same time doesn't work, at least for me. I'm guessing being ten months pregnant didn't help either. So this delicious cheesecake is a mashup of two, likely very good recipes, and became the happy (and delicious) accident that it is. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
Pesach Birthday Cake Freebie!

However, in the spirit of birthdays and sharingand Pesach, here is the delicious Lemon-Sponge Cake with Chocolate Ganache birthday cake that our family has been using for years. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
